Demand a People's Intervention for Energy East!
Over the past few months more than 100,000 people have sent messages to the National Energy Board (NEB) demanding that the NEB include climate change in its review of the Energy East tar sands pipeline.
While the board is expecting applications for people to intervene in the review they still refuse to listen to the thousands of voices calling for a climate review. To make the NEB listen, we need your help. We're trying to flood the intervention process with thousands of applications demanding that Energy East’s climate change impact be included in the pipeline’s review.

All across Canada, people are standing up to Energy East, applying to the National Energy Board to speak out against the project’s massive climate impacts.
In early February, we delivered over 100,000 messages from people across Canada demanding a full climate review of the pipeline, but the NEB refused to listen. Now, those of us who joined the Energy East People's Intervention have a new opportunity get the NEB to conduct a climate review: apply to intervene in the National Energy Board's review of the pipeline.
We know this may not change their mind. But we win either way. When thousands of us apply, we force the NEB and PM Harper to make public their insistence on excluding climate science. They’ll have to show their true colours - opposing an open, transparent, comprehensive review of the biggest tar sands pipeline ever proposed -- and that’s the first step in undermining their legitimacy, and stopping this project for good.
Join the People’s intervention now and demand a climate review on Energy East!
Follow the step by step instructions to file a climate application online:

The NEB will have to review EVERY application we file. When they're done, they'll need to decide if they are going to put Big Oil's agenda ahead of the safety of our communities and the future of our planet.
To file an application, you can also join the Greenpeace community in our upcoming application parties:
on Wednesday February 25th in Toronto hosted by the University of Toronto Local Group, more info here:

on Monday February 23rd, 5:00 PM, in Montreal hosted by the McGill Local Group, SSMU Building (lobby), McGill Campus, 3511 Rue Peel.
Not able to attend? Dozens of other application events are organized in Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax...

Harper and his allies won’t stop pushing pipelines until we force them to be accountable for the climate & community impacts of these projects. Hundreds of applications have already been filed, and community groups have organized dozens of events to submit applications --
